Q: Why set up a bridal registry for Honeymoon travel?
A: Many couples have to come to us requesting that we accept and hold money given by their family and friends as gifts to be applied toward their honeymoon travel. The reasons vary…they have been living together, it is a second marriage and they’ve already acquired the “things” they need, they inherited the family china and silver, or they simply need the financial assistance in order to have the honeymoon of their dreams. Also, a registry with MyTravel can be in addition to the traditional gift registry to give your guests an option.

Q: How do we advise our family and friends that we are registered with MyTravel?
A: We will provide you with an initial supply of 100 registry announcement cards to enclose with your wedding invitations advising them of your Honeymoon Registry and instructions for gift giving. There is a nominal fee of $15 for each additional 25 cards.

Q: If we choose not to set up a Honeymoon Registry, may we still book a fabulous honeymoon with you?
A: Of course!

Q: Why should we use MyTravel to plan our honeymoon?
A: We offer a variety of products such as deluxe all-inclusive resorts, cruises, unique adventures and much more! Leave the organizing of your honeymoon to an experienced and professional Travel Consultant, who has first hand knowledge, is resourceful and can be of tremendous value to you when it comes to planning your important trip! We take great pride giving attention to details, being able to customize your honeymoon to your needs and budget, as well as ensuring you receive the best value for your trip!

Q: What are the costs to use the Honeymoon Registry?
A: An initial non-refundable deposit of $150 is required 14 days after registration, which will be applied towards the final payment of the honeymoon booking. This fee will be paid by the wedding couple, by cheque or cash and the wedding guests do not incur service fees when gift giving. In most instances, there will be no fees involved in planning your honeymoon travel; however, fees are determined by the scope of the trip and will be discussed on an individual basis.

Q: How can my guests contribute to the registry?
A: In person at the nearest MyTravel office, by mail, phone, email or fax.

Q: What are the accepted forms of payment?
A: Cheque, cash, debit card or credit card.

Q: What will my guests who contribute to the honeymoon receive?
A: They will receive a lovely gift acknowledgement card so they may present it to you at the wedding.

Q: What is your refund policy should we need to cancel our reservations?
A: The $150 fee collected by MyTravel to create your Honeymoon Registry is non-refundable. Also, once under deposit your reservations for travel are subject to cancellation fees determined by the tour operator. Optional travel insurance is available for purchase and is strongly recommended.

Q: What if we decide not to book the honeymoon and want the money from the registry?
A: Either the fee of $150 or 10% of the money collected towards the registry is non-refundable, whichever is greater.

Q: What if our registry does not collect the funds necessary to cover the total cost of our honeymoon?
A: The registered couple will be responsible for payment of any balance due.

Q: What if MyTravel should receive contributions in excess of the actual cost of the honeymoon?
A: Any extra cash accumulated in the honeymoon account will be given to the registered couple to spend at their discretion.

Q: How long will MyTravel continue to accept gift contributions from guests?
A: We will collect from guests up until one week prior to your wedding date.

Q: How will we know how much money is being given by guests?
A: MyTravel will provide you a current balance amount as requested.

Q: Will we know which guests have contributed and how much, in order to thank them?
A: We will provide you with a detailed summary of all gifts received.

Q: How long will MyTravel keep the funds in our registry?
A The couple will have two years from the opening of the registry to confirm their travel arrangements.

Q: Can MyTravel assist with my out of town guests?
A Of course! We can assist with air, car, hotel reservations or any other travel arrangement they need.
